Sharp & Diamond worked with the citizens of Coquitlam to prepare a park master plan that preserves the natural character of the area and restores the landscape for the benefit of people and wildlife. Trails, wildflower meadows, and specimen trees create an arboretum and opportunities for passive recreation. The 'Waterworks' water spray park and multiple playgrounds provide active use areas for younger children.
The new $16 million park, plaza, and field complex features three infill turf fields, gathering spaces, special events venue, spectator facilities, and a high quality public realm. New parking lots allow stormwater to infiltrate via permeable pavers into underground swales comprised of structural soils supporting large canopy trees and vehicles.
