Pacific Passage Spirit Of The Sea, YVR ITB
Richmond, BC

YVR West Chevron sculpture image

"Travelers arriving from the United States reach the Pacific Passage in the through a traditionally constructed post-and-beam longhouse doorway, emerging into a typically North Coast world of sandy beaches and gentle waves breaking against rugged landscapes" YVR Art Foundation www.yvraf.com.

The firm also designed the interior for the Spirit of the Sea in the West Chevron in the International Terminal Building (ITB) at YVR. Iconic elements like stream course, rockwork, urban fountain, aquarium, and the sculptures of renowned carver Dempsey Bob tell the story of creeks and rivers as they move toward the open sea.

The clearly defined sense of place and calming effects of nature will soothe the jangled nerves of millions of travelers who use the International Terminal annually.
